Local Outdoors: Hunting season winding down

San Marcos - Late January is always a little sad for me.

Maybe sad is not the word. Call it a transition period. Most of the major hunting seasons are closed or planned to finish. Good late winter-spring fishing is now at hand.

Winter Dove condition in the south closed on Sundays. I had planned to hunt the afternoon several Panna Maria bit last week, the rains that killed vehement. I do not hunt in the rain. Doves do not fly in rain. And the rain moved all our doves of the size where we hunt. Then dove season ended on a Downer.

I am active in an area very agrarian McDowell Co. West Virginia. It is not conventional to see yourself in balance, coyote, deer, etc. on a weekly point of departure around my hospital. I am a stalker Avid / outdoor, and I saw and heard (until skirmish) all that timber of West Virginia have to offer.

On July 23, 2009 I was put on My Parade porch floor of my visit (I had built a fire) approx. 11:30 pm when I heard a cry "jazzy" 150-200 meters....
