Can you paint different colors on acrylic painted wooden wall letters or it will get intermixed?

Q: I paint the nursery wall letters and I was wondering if I can use different colored acrylic letters on the wall already painted in acrylic. For example, blue clouds on the letter green. Will it get tangled? I hope not because I let it dry for a day.

A: Once the paint is dry, it is "activated". Painting over would not be bleeding all the colors ... Consider this-the paint is washable is it not? If it was not, how would you clean it?
